Computational
Intelligence for Modelling Complex Systems
Edited by Rs. 1600.00 (For India Only)
About Book: Introduction to Computational Intelligence for Modelling Complex Systems Modelling, of complex systems is an area that has attracted researchers from a number of disciplines such as mathematics, physics, engineering and computer science. Traditional mathematics has not been very successful when dealing with complex systems. This book uses computational intelligence techniques to model complex systems. Chapter 1 uses and compares multi-layer perceptron (MLP) neural networks, support vector machines (SVM) and Gaussian mixture models for modeling the condition of mechanical systems. Chapter 2 uses response surface method, genetic algorithms (GAs) and simulated annealing to update finite element models of structures. Chapter 3 uses Fuzzy-ARTMAP and GAs for intrusion detection in information systems. Chapter 4 compares online learning techniques Learn++ and Fuzzy-ARTMAP for modeling faults in electrical systems. Chapter 5 compares MLP, RBF and SVM for modeling water demand. Chapter 6 compares Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model and MLP for modeling interstate conflict while Chapter 7 uses rough sets to understand the relationships between demographic characteristics and HIV risk. Chapter 8 uses fuzzy systems, adaptive fuzzy systems, RBF and MLP to model financial systems. Chapter 9 uses reinforcement learning and multi-agent approach for modeling games. Chapter 10 uses MLP, RBF, a committee of MLP and RBF as well as GAs to estimate missing data in a database. This book is intended mainly for mathematicians, computer scientists, political scientists as well as mechanical, civil, electrical, information and biomedical engineers at both basic and advanced research levels.
